Back in Business

Abby's had a stomach "bug" the past few days, so we've been a little out of commission. Luckily all is well now! Woo-hoo! Nothing too exciting has been going on. I signed Abby up for Mother's Day Out for next year, and I'm so excited about having 5 hours all to myself! I don't even know what I'll do with myself! Clean? Read? Write? Sleep? Shop? Who knows. If I was really good, I'd actually start writing. I'd love to be able to say that I'm a published author. That has always been my goal. Perhaps with a little time to myself, I can make that happen. We'll see.

Oh, and Matt and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. My, how times flies! Thanks to Jordan and Eric for letting Abby come over and play with BFF Ellie so we could go to dinner!

Here are some more recent pics of, you guessed it, Abby! :)

This was Matt's idea. ha

Everyone Needs an Auntie Em!

Friday, July 25, 2008

The one time I go over to Jason and Emily's and don't take my regular diaper bag with the extra change of clothes would, OF COURSE, just happen to be the same occasion that Abby gets sick. Really sick. As soon as we pull up to their place. In the car. I'll stop there. So, THANK YOU to Auntie Em for letting us both borrow changes of clothes. Thank you also for the use of towels, Oxy Spray, Clorox wipes, bathing Abby, and doing a load of laundry! You are a lifesaver!!

Here's Abby in Auntie Em's shirt:
Not cute enough, so with a few tugs here and a little twist there, VOILA: Chic baby!
Happier times at breakfast:

Here's hoping this bug goes away soon!!

I took this picture of Abby today. I really like this one. The smile is genuine, and she just looks like, well, Abby. :)

Here's Abby and BFF Ellie from the other day before heading down to the pool.

Seriously--How adorable is Ellie in this bikini?? I'm thinking Eric won't think it's too cute in about 15 years or so! :)

Spaghetti time! I took a cue from the grandparents and put an old T-shirt on Abby.

I love this picture of Ellie. She's just making a tad bit of a mess, right??

So it was time for a bath! This is one of those pictures they'll come across when they're going off to college and question why we ever took pictures of things like this.

Once in the PJs, it was time for more playing. Matt was on double duty with both girls.

Here's a pic of Jordan and me.

I call this one "Special Delivery."

Abby and her BFF Ellie had a good ol' time last night. I'll post those pics tomorrow. I'm off to bed! It's way past my bedtime!

A Potpurri of Pics

Just walkin'

At lunch the other day

She's got it made. What a life!

Abby and her pal Meredith got a kick out of the fan. Abby's really into fans at the moment.

What a cutie patootie Miss Meredith is!!

And here's a picture of Matt and me. I can't believe the 19-year-old boy I met is now a 30-year-old man!! At church on Sunday, when I went to sign the registration pad, I noticed that Matt now falls under the 30-45 category! Of course, I made sure to point that out to him immediately! :)

More Abby Pics...Go Figure!

Monday, July 14, 2008

I'm still trying to figure out my new camera. It came with a DVD that will guide me how to really work the thing, so I'm planning on doing that one day this week while Sweet Pea naps. In the meantime, I just snap away and edit later. Enjoy!

The necklace Abby is holding is the one she swiped from my bathroom drawer. She is really into drawers and cabinets at the moment!

Turning on the water in the bathtub is SO much fun! This is a daily occurrence at our house! Oh, and did I mention that once she turns the water on, she just walks away. If I could only teach her to turn the knob back the other way...

Look at those eyes! She has the Tenner gene to thank for them, by the way. I had NOTHING to do with that! ha!

Hello? Anyone home? Millie? Winnie? You in there?!

Abby is questioning so much right now. This is her saying "Where'd they go?" except it sounds more like "Wheh go?" She turns her palms up and shrugs her shoulders. It cracks us up. I'm amazed at how observant children are at this age. I mean, just six months ago she couldn't even crawl!! With her inquisitive mind, I'm thinking Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist perhaps??

Dada's little helper. No more getting into cabinets, Roo! (She had a thing for both the Resolve bottle and the Clorox Anywhere Hard Surface bottle!) Both are godsends, by the way. Perhaps her love for all things clean means that she could be a domestic diva in the making! :)

I took this pic of Abby's BFF, Ellie, when she and Jordan came over the other day. Isn't she just the most adorable thing?!

I promise to post some pictures of me and Matt here, but, as was the case today, me in no makeup, a gray T-shirt, and gym shorts doesn't necessarily scream "Take my picture and post it for the world to see!" :) Happy week, everyone!

Prima Ballerina

Here are some pictures from our little ballerina's photo session in the yard this afternoon.

We met up with our good pals Anne and Harper for some good ol' fun at Willowbend this morning. Here are some pics.
Here's Harper and Abby
How cute is she??
Just Abby and the remote--her favorite toy at the moment! :)

Catching Up!

Wednesday, July 9, 2008

Hello strangers! :) Lately, I have been busier than ever! Thanks to some super-secretive projects I've been working on, I haven't had a spare minute for blogging. Now that the projects are complete, I can breathe once again! Yea! I have been working on Matt's 30th Birthday scrapbook for the past few weeks, so that has been quite the endeavor! And at the same time, Matt and I were creating a 60th Birthday Slideshow for my dad. Both projects were big hits, so all of the hard work paid off! Since I blogged last, both Matt and I celebrated birthdays, Abby has cut a new tooth, my dad turned the big 6-0, and we ventured to Longview for a week.

For my birthday, Matt MAJORLY SURPRISED ME with a new camera. I'm not talking one of those point and click cameras, but a real "fancy-shmancy" camera with lenses and everything! :) I have so much learning to do, but it's been so fun to snap pictures over the 4th weekend while we were in Longview. Hopefully I will perfect my photography skills before Christmas! Here are some pictures from our weekend:

Fourth of July Cutie Patootie

She loves her bath! Especially when it somes to splashing!!
Swimming in the Mill Run pool. Thank you to Auntie Em, our resident phenomenal photographer, for these pics!
Abby and her Dada in her new floatie! What's a trip to the grandparents' without a new toy??
Matt, his dad, and brother Jason
Jason had to borrow some of Rick's REALLY OLD swim shorts. I think the bright pink suits him! ha!
Matt about to do the Cannonball
Sparkler time. I think the fire department could have been called on us!
Miss Abby Mae out by the swing
She loves making this face!
Crazy Uncle Chris LOVES to invent new ways to make Abby laugh. Here he decided to push Abby around in her doll stroller!
A birthday pic
I am in desperate need of more bows!!
Matt turned 30 on July 3rd, and we celebrated at Cape Buffalo with friends at the end of June.

Here's Matt and Moody. Moods came in from Houston for the weekend, and it's always good to see Moody!
Here are the guys with the lead singer for the 80s metal cover band that was playing. Truth be told, they were awesome!
Baxter and I couldn't miss out on a pic either. How "Bret Michaels-wannabe" is this guy?!
Here's what's left of the gang at the end of the night.
Matt with his favorite sister-in-law, Emily.

I hope to be better about posting now that things have slowed down. Now, if I could just get Abby to slow down... :) Here's to a great rest of the week!
